Immunology Department

The Immunology Department performs all the serological tests required to investigate diseases expressed by serological markers such as autoantibodies, histocompatibility antigens or allergens.

The immune system is a remarkable adaptation mechanism that protects the body from pathogenic microorganisms and diseases such as malignancies.

With the help of modern and automated analyzers, even the most specialized immunological tests can be performed immediately, thus providing a primary role in the clinical diagnosis of diseases, such as:

  • Immunodeficiencies, e.g. acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS), chronic granulomatosis.
  • Autoimmune diseases, e.g. systemic lupus erythematosus, rheumatoid arthritis, Hashimoto’s thyroiditis, myasthenia gravis.
  • Infectious diseases, e.g. hepatitis, HIV, cytomegalovirus (CMV) infection, toxoplasmosis, rubella.
  • Immune hyperplasias and cancer.

With the use of barcode codes, all samples are identified from the moment of sampling to the extraction of the results
